As you see this is not a regular buy of stock or ETF. It a limited edition silver coin that was offered on 11/14 at 11 am CST by the US Mint and it was sold out in less than 20 minutes. It was lucky for me to get one of the 30000 coins.
This was my first ever coin purchase from mint on the release date.Previously i bought coins from Ebay APMEX store. The reason i got was out of curiosity and see if i could get one with such huge rush . After some troubles with getting the order and website crashing and refreshes i was able to order 1 and it was confirmed . Eagerly waiting for the coin to see if it worth the hype. Mean while the coin prices are going crazy on ebay like this or this one ,prices are fluctuating between 400 to all the way 2000.
Will decide once i get the coin to either keep it or sell it.Does any of the DGI members collect coins ?.
One of the things for me is to try new things/Gadgets/services and when there is an enticing offer available then i will almost try it.
Since i have Amex card ,there was amex offer of spend $100 or more on Shipt and
get $50 back,its almost 50% off groceries. I had this on 2 other cards .
Now coming to the Shipt they are Grocery delivery service and currently they are deliver from few stores only one of them is Target and the other is Kroger at least in my Zip Code.
As with any delivery service they have membership fees of $99 for Year or they Have monthly membership. When i signed up there was 2 week free trial and it was good.
Now coming to prices we observed on some of them like Milk,it was almost same price as store price and few others like diapers,eggs etc were price little above. You cant use any coupons or anything on the order.But Other Thing is there are some offers like spend $30 on certain items and get $10 credit for next purchase.
Ordering is simple you need to have a total of $35 for free delivery even with Membership. You get to pick the hours and from the 3 or so orders i did i had groceries delivered almost in 2 hours.
This will work better for people who want to have groceries delivered almost immediately.As for me i like to shop and use coupons to save dollars,so i may not use it Much.
After signing for house construction in April 2017 and it was finally closed on 2/26.It was supposed to be closed earlier last week, but it was delayed as I didn’t receive my final CD.
This is the first house we bought.We are Excited and Nervous as hell .
We did a simple housewarming afterwards.
This was reason why I was not aggressive in investing in stocks.I was holding it for down payment.Still few things pending like move utilities and getting communications to house.
My first Mortage payment will be on April 1st .
Its little late,but i want to set my Goals for 2018.
These are not just financial goals.I am including Some other Development Goals.
One of My top Priority is Getting in Shape.As part of this i am including physical Goals.
GYM: 120 workouts
Last year in November as part of Groupon deal i started going to Gym,I did 12 Workouts in 2 months.This Year i am planning to get to 10 Workouts a Month.
My Fitbit Average for last year is 5.8K steps a day,would like to Bump it up to 9K steps a day.
Investment : Maxout Both 401k and Roth IRA.
Last year i was able to max out Roth IRA,but came up short on 401K due to Calculation issues. It will be interesting this year ,as i will be closing my house next month Hopefully.Still trying to MaxOut.
Courses: Finish a Course from open course or coursera. I will be picking up the course soon .I would like to invest in myself and maybe if posisbl
Dividends : I am setting up a Goal of 9K Dividends in All my accounts.Starting from this year i will include my Retirement Accounts Also.If i include all Accounts in 2017 i was at 7.3K in dividends.
Website Views: In 2017 i was able to attract close 5K total Views.Maybe we will double it this year.

With some of the dividend funds available i bought T and FLO in my accounts.
Bought 4 shares of T at 35.50 for 142 This will add another $7.96 to my annual fund.
Bought 1 share of FLO at 17.61 and this will add another 0.68 to fund.
These are purchases in my retirement account and taxable account.
VFIAX: 1.02 Shares at $228.59 will add close to 4 dollars in dividend
PABGX: 0.867 share @89.83 will add close to 40 cents in dividend.
VIMAX: 0.4387 Shares @ 178.21 will add around 1.2 dollars in dividends.
VSIAX: 2.98 shares @ 52.32 will add another $ 3 in dividends.
VTMGX: 17.1 shares @13.65 will add another $6.2 in dividends.
A total of 750 dollars was invested this period.
Getting close to the yearly limit .
This will add another 15 dollars my annual fund.
I have 2 free trades expiring in my Scottrade account and had some funds from dividends.
So I purchased 5 shares of CSCO at 30.68 this will add another $5.8 to my fund.
Bought 6 shares of BTG at $2.51 to average down. My price.
This morning I bought 10 shares of Kroger at 23.16/share ,this name popped up on my list as Dividend Diplomats bought the stock.Dividend income from last 2 months is used to buy these stocks.
It costed me 4.95 to make this purchase and this will add another $5 to my annual dividend fund.
Finally after 3 months of search we found a builder and Plan that fit into our liking . As the Frisco real estate market is hot and houses which satisfy our requirements were tough to meet,for examples in this community out of the 30 or so lots available for this particular builder we found just 1 to be perfect for our criteria and 2 more workable.
This was above my upper limit ,but with builder incentives and realtor cashback we made it work.During the 3 months we visited close to 10 to 12 builders and different subdivisions,Some of them were above price range or the price/sq ft was above the market ,or not close by. We were about to sign with the same builder,but a different subdivision and right at the moment i receive email form this property that they are opening new subdivision and would you like to visit, 5 mins later i reply with a time to visit and someone else already Booked that slot.
Even before we visited we prepared looking at the plot online, model to save time,we were so ready to sign the house without any price negotiation .
There were some hiccups like lot premium that was not on website .
After signing the house we went through design experience which will be another post.
